Fundamentals of Lighting

IES ’FUNDAMENTALS of LIGHTING’ COURSE

The Puget Sound Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society is pleased to present the IES “FUNDAMENTALS of LIGHTING”  course. The course will be offered in the Spring of 2017 at the Lighting Design Lab.

This series of ten educational classes provides the foundation for understanding light, color, light sources, and luminaires. In addition, the course introduces the student to fundamental calculations, and to lighting design. Further, these classes are taught by an outstanding selection of local lighting professionals. This is a must for those who are new to lighting or for those who want to refresh their understanding of the principles of illumination. Each student enrolled in the course will receive the Fundamentals of Lighting Student Manual as well as the PPT Student Handout Manual, which will be made available prior to class. Light snacks will be provided at all sessions.

Classes will occur on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8:30pm. The class schedule will be similar to the 2017 schedule as follows.
